Online upload is fastest, and your original never leaves your home. A phone photo taken by a window works well for most restorations. If you'd rather mail the physical photo, here's how it works.
Mail-in details
- Scanning fee: $15 per photo, added to your restoration tier
- You pay shipping both ways. Include a prepaid, trackable return label in your package
- Use tracked, insured shipping. We are not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit

Mail-in payment
- Mail-in orders are paid by invoice or ACH bank transfer only
- ACH has no processing fee, but it must clear before work begins
- Invoices paid by card include the 4% electronic processing fee
- No work begins until payment is received and cleared
- Your original is returned with your return label once your restoration is complete
How to photograph your damaged photo
No scanner? Your phone works. The better your upload, the better your restoration.
Do
- Lay the photo completely flat on a clean, solid surface
- Use soft natural light, such as near a window during the day
- Hold your phone straight above the photo, not at an angle
- Fill the frame with the photo, leaving a small border
- Tap to focus and take several shots, then send the sharpest
- Share reference photos of the people if the damage covers faces
Don't
- Don't shoot in direct sunlight or under harsh overhead lights
- Don't use flash, which causes glare
- Don't angle the phone, which distorts the image
- Don't send screenshots; upload the original photo file
- Don't edit, filter, or compress the photo before uploading
- Don't crop tightly and cut off edges we may need

Frequently asked questions
Do you serve clients outside Mississippi?
Yes. Our online photo restoration service serves clients in all 50 states. You upload your photo online and receive your restored files through a private online gallery. Our studio is based in Biloxi, MS.
How is this different from a photo restoration app?
Apps apply one automated pass and often distort faces or invent details. Every photo we restore is handled by a professional photographer using a custom hybrid process of advanced digital tools and careful hand retouching, and you approve a proof before your final files are released.
What files can I upload?
JPG, PNG, HEIC, or TIFF. You can upload one or more photos at once, up to 10 MB total. For security, we do not accept ZIP, RAR, or PDF files. If your photos total more than 10 MB, upload them in separate submissions, or email dpphotographyllc@gmail.com or text 228.910.3307 to request a secure Dropbox upload link.
What if I choose the wrong tier?
We review every photo before starting. If your photo falls in a different tier than you selected, we'll contact you for approval and send an invoice for the difference. No work begins until the difference is paid.
How does the deposit work?
Your deposit reserves your place in our restoration queue and is applied toward your total. It is not an additional fee. Deposits are non-refundable once work has begun.
When does the turnaround clock start?
When we confirm receipt of your photo and deposit, typically within 24 business hours. Submissions received on Sundays and Mondays, when we're closed, are confirmed within 24 hours of the next business day.
Can I mail my original photo instead?
Yes. Mail-in orders include a $15 per photo scanning fee, you pay shipping both ways, and payment is by invoice or ACH only. No work begins until payment clears. Online upload is faster and keeps your original safely at home.
How do I receive my restored photo?
We deliver a watermarked proof through a private online gallery. You have 7 days to request one round of revisions. Once you approve and pay your balance, the watermark is removed and full downloads are enabled. You can also order professional prints shipped anywhere in the U.S.
How long is my gallery available?
Your gallery stays open for 7 days after final approval. After that, a $50 gallery re-creation fee applies to restore access.
Can you guarantee an exact match on extreme restorations?
For face reconstruction, background replacement, or compositing people from separate photos, we can't guarantee an exact likeness. We use every reference photo you provide to create the closest possible result, but rebuilding severely damaged or missing subjects is interpretive by nature.
